Also, can we just talk about badges? I like that Volvo treats them like Merit badges.

Peaked in the 80s? Now we boast about the AWD system this particular model doesn’t have.

Yes, and this captured mid-sneeze monstrosity that Fisker has subsequently done kind of corroborates Callum’s account...

The world was introduced to the Henrik Fisker-designed DB9 at the 2003 Frankfurt Motor Show.

I have to say, DB9 is nowhere near as pretty as I remember it looking. The most prominent point of the face is oddly high, giving it a kind of amphibious bus look:

The Lagonda was a cool car. But the total commitment to the aesthetic that Aston Martin showed (and the fact that it’s a one-off) are not points the more humorless VW Group can claim to have.

I actually kind of love the way the (non-hot) successor to that Civic looked.

Jade! Three row mini-minivan! Donfeng Honda cosmopolitanism!

Oh, no. I don’t mind that they blocked off the grille but I wish they had kept the shape. It looks a bit blunt nosed now.

Speaking of things that will likely look outdated, the latest generation Audi / Porsche interiors are going to look horrible in no time flat. Every one I see just brings to mind this retro-gauche monstrosity:

Mercedes! I drive a MERCEDES!

Agreed. And the people who buy these things are probably the kind of people who would shy away from a dinner plate sized three pointed star.

Tasteful!

Horrible. I had quite high hopes for this and thought the concept was an intriguing and quite successful design in a highly stylized lunar rover kind of way.

Yes omg. Audi is a repeat offender on this and it looks particularly bad on them because the rest of the lines are so staid. Like someone drew a unibrow on the side of the car.

Support for stricter gun laws:

NRA campaign contributions aren’t really the problem. Cornyn, for example, got $9,900 in 2014, which is a tiny percentage of the $14m he raised in total that year. (Vox) Exxon and AT&T each more than quintupled the NRA’s contribution. (Source)

Support for stricter gun laws polls at 66%. For background checks 97%. Assault weapons ban 67%. 59% would feel less safe with more guns in circulation. 17% feel Congress is doing enough to reduce gun violence.

Savagegeese is a great channel! Spotty command of the English language aside.

Those “underdog vs the establishment” pieces are almost always terrible clickbait with dubious journalistic value, though. I remember similar slack-jawed praise for the SRX, Lacrosse, etc, etc. The outcomes are fairly predictable.
