i read that Lucas originally had Qui Gon and Obi Wan as the same character but then later split them up.

this makes it sound like Yoda is the Captain in Jedi Precinct.

or just a bunch of isolationist warrior-monks who rarely meddle in galactic affairs, but got tangled in the Clone Wars while they were investigating Sith rumours.

yeah, that was my main gripe with the Dark Forces game sequels. you had this ambivalent agent doing cool cloak-and-dagger type stuff and then they had to ruin in by making him a Jedi, coz folks love 'em lightsabers.

well they went out and filmed Lucas' first draft for the prequels anyway.

Anakin should have been introduced at the same age as Luke in ANH.

are you saying yes to killing off the ewoks?

just a quick shot of a nameless blue-skinned red-eyed guy in white uniform in the new movies would be the greatest thing to me.

Anakin should have been introduced as a cocky ace pilot fighting in the Clone Wars. the Jedi then come along, see his Force potential and decide to train him.

it's almost as if Sidious knew Anakin wouldn't be able to handle a fully-fledged Jedi. (see: Anakin v. Obi-wan in ROTS. the fight against Dooku in AOTC? Dooku is obviously holding back, as per Sidious' instructions).

it wouldn't have tied in with what happens in ANH's duel, though. the teacher/student rivalry would have still worked if the prequels had pulled it off.

that was the whole opening sequence for ROTS. Lucas figured it out two movies too late.

Greedo's ghost hand pops in from screen right clutching a blaster.

well, for a bunch of films, they sure do have a lot of franchising.

yeah, Yoda was over-used in the prequels. you need a Jedi to be a bad-ass? just pick one from the many new ones the prequels had. hell, let Ki-Adi-Mundi put the hurt on Count Dooku. then when we see his death during Order 66, it would have hurt even more.

agreed on Ki-Adi-Mundi's last stand.

yeah, having the Jedi be front and center in the prequels was a bad story decision.

actually, The Hobbit movies are worse, coz they at least had a story to work with. Lucas was just throwing stuff onto the computer screens and seeing what sticks.

actually, i'm really interested in what that Rogue One stand-alone is gonna be like. sounds as if it's gonna be Dark Forces: The Movie and that is great to me.

having the Clone Wars being a multi-generational conflict is interesting. The Old Republic slowly getting worn down through the years and the galaxy crumbling and Sidious then worming his wat in and up amongst the chaos to establish himself.
