I'd say "tell that to Forrest Whitaker", personally. Or Adrien Brody.

Nah he just did the OJ series and got an Emmy nom. The Cuba Embargo is over.

If Hotch was the "series' functional lead", I misunderstood a good six seasons of this show…

Until Flashpoint happened. Blank slate.

Also Andy Mientus (Pied Piper) is a very good, broadway experienced singer. And his whole shtick as a villain is "sound". It's perfect.

I had to remind myself what Seeso was. Too many damned content providers!!

Still think "The Prestige" was Nolan at his best. It was truest to his film-making philosophy and what I see as a general trend of a theme of meta-theatricality in his work. This seems very not that, and I am suspicious. (also I'm still bitter about Interstellar having so much potential and fucking squandering it,

Well, it's not "Casablanca". We know that much.

Dave Franco and Alison Brie are engaged IRL, so more interested if that influences their characters than the more tangential Pushing Daisies-Raul Esparza-Kristin Chenoweth connection. That said I love Raul Esparza and would be very down to have him and Kristin play off each other again.

Definitely our ultimate fate to, let's say, wind up with lots of free time on our hands…

I would gladly take credit as an exception to that, but I was also a russian studies major in college, so I wasn't as naive as I could have been.
I did feel that the way he avoids talking about his experience in the army/talks around it, coupled with his obvious prowess with firearms, and general muted behavior made it

Is it weird that I felt like the production values were *too* good? American Gods always felt a little seedy to me.

Lucifer from Sandman/Lucifer. C'mon.
I wouldn't have minded seeing Lucifer from Supernatural on there, either.

I LOVED FRINGE. It was also one of the first shows I started reading AV Club reviews for, so this feels very full circle.

Noooooooo :(
I never expected the show to start getting reviews here again, but what a pleasure it's been. But I have faith. All of this has happened before, and all this will happen again. Hopefully just without the reviews stopping next time…

Ugh the bad taste from this episode is still in my mouth and it's making it hard for me to even get my thoughts in order…

I thought the point of Barry not saving his mom was him learning to move on. A lesson re-emphasized (unnecessarily) in "The Runaway Dinosaur". Also not to fuck with the timeline, which has been emphasized SO many times, only for him to keep ignoring it when the writers demand it.

So the implication is that Finch is developing dementia as well, yes? Like his father? And that's why he keeps seeing Grace's face?

It's cultural appropriation because the traditions the character draws on *are* specific to (I think) Chinese culture. And in the comics it's a rich white dude who takes a vacation over to Asia, happens upon a secret mystic temple, and gets chosen to receive powers (over any and all locals). So while there is

I shamelessly love Blink. Yes they kind of suck (although Travis is actually talented), but it's in an endearing way. It's like you go to a concert and you wonder whether Tom is going to sing off pitch or if he's going to sing waaaay off pitch. It's exciting and suspenseful!
