Love the conversation going on below about sociological implications of Renard's off-the-cuff remark about most crime being related to Wesen. I don't have faith in the writers to explore or know what to do with the implications, so I think they intended it as an easy out to answer nagging fans. Of course, that

i.e. "I wanted the film to engage with the very real problems of racism and the lasting effects of colonialism on African nations, but Marvel thought that wouldn't be funny enough."

Obviously a little late on the discussion here, but posting cuz I feel like it.

(for anyone reading these reviews after the fact, as I am):

Obviously a year late on this review, since I only just started binge-watching Grimm, but I gotta echo the previous comments that this review is really sloppy and poorly thought out.

So significance of "Triton's Daughter"/Wallace Shipping for the boat Oliver is boarding?

BOOK SPOILERS (through end of 5th book):

These recent cross-overs between Arrow and Flash have just been…weird. Both series are too invested in their own seasonal endgames they're building towards to engage properly with their sister show's. Lance is all smiles suddenly just because the Flash team come into town? No mention of Oliver being the subject of a

My major gripe with this past episode of Arrow and The Flash was how out of place they felt as crossovers within the ongoing arcs of their respective seasons. When Felicity randomly popped over to Central City, there was no mention of "Roy is in jail", but that trip obviously only just happened before this Arrow

If I understood the episode correctly, the ploy would have put Finch in more direct danger because it would have blown his cover. Samaritan still can't see him, currently. Trojan horse installed on Beth's software means someone had to activate it, Samaritan checks its logs of Beth and sees "Professor Harold Whistler"

I keep forgetting that the police captain is gay, because it's such a non-issue on the show, and the show deserves a ton of credit for that. Kudos to the writers. Also for the impressive diversity amongst the main cast members, which is also not even remarked on by the show. The world of The Flash is inspiring not

If I had to choose a member of the League of Shadows to kill me (other than a duel with Ra's), it would have to be Chase. First he'll do some top notch DJ-ing at my club, making it popular and profitable once again. Then there'll be some awkward sexual tension between us that leads to me using him as emotional sex

Stray observations:
Sin's quip about not having health insurance was golden.
Laurel's "I didn't come here to fight!" is one of those classic things people say that seem to make sense, but actually make no sense at all. "Sup Ted. Yeah I just randomly showed up on the off chance that we could get into a fight."

You gotta feel a little bad for Brick who just gets shot with an arrow in (I think) every episode he appears in. At some point, it's got to get ridiculous. "Here I am, the only nearly-invulnerable-to-bullets English thug in Star(ling) City and then here come these wackjobs who all wear masks and are really good with a

My point is more that Hollywood favors casting white actors in films about white people and then giving them awards. It's so much harder for actors of color to succeed.

Also every single acting nominee is white. Every single one. The only color for the night comes from Selma's two nominations (and it won't win Best Picture) and Alfonso Iñárritu, so it's very possible we'll go the entire night without seeing one person of color walk on stage. This could be a contender for the whitest

Theory of Everything should win nothing. Can we also talk about how Meryl Streep was nominated again?! Like fuck that shit. Emily Blunt was amazing in Into the Woods. But as long as Meryl is in a movie, she can get a nomination. Stupid academy…

I am shocked to not see "A Very Supernatural Christmas" on here. Excellent episode that fits right in with everything on here. And AV Club usually likes Supernatural.

Yeah my guess is it's a tradition sort of thing. The League has been around for many centuries, no doubt pre-dating guns (or at the very least guns with any sort of accuracy), so the codified training doesn't include guns? A bow and arrow is also quieter (unless you use a silencer), which is useful for assassin work.

Tell that to Deadshot.
