Bloomberg: How Does Snapchat Make Money?
The FBI really has nothing to do with policing the President’s actions, is what I’m saying. Congress and the courts have way more to do with that.
“The FBI is a crucial element of checks and balances that needs to remain strong enough to prevent the angry orange from crafting the white supremacist, anti-feminist, anti-LGBTQ totalitarian dictatorship of his dreams.”
What’s “tricky” about holding the government to a consistent standard of behavior in order to prevent abuse of authority? A quick perusal of landmark Supreme Court cases on constitutional rights will show you that they’re mostly cases where the justices sided with fairly unsavory people and groups. Rights are…
Dude I grew up in Baltimore and currently live in Boston. As much as the rest of your point is on target, you’re seriously gonna call Boston “second rate?”
The NYT once again proves that they are the OG masters when it comes to trolling their own readership.
It’s definitely good to personally feel compassion for families, but from a legal standpoint there are a lot of good reasons why it’s called the “justice system” and not the “vengeance system.”
It’s not that we “care” - it’s about adhering to our Constitution, which prohibits cruel and unusual punishment. It’s not a good idea to set the precedent that criminals deserve an “eye for an eye” type of punishment. That kind of justice is usually a hallmark of authoritarian regimes.
Also - “bar pizza” from the South Shore of Boston.
I think upstate NY may have the most unique dishes of any region of the US:
Fun fact -the #1 Yelp-reviewed restaurant place in Boston in 2016 (I think) was a torta take-out spot called Tenoch. Best tortas ever.
Some commenters are turning this into a political issue, but the FTC hasn’t really pursued action against anyone for violating these guidelines since they were most recently updated. They’re fairly toothless.
How could you possibly think this is a likely scenario? A world in which this type of litigation were possible would be really different than the one we currently live in (at least in the US).
This sounds like a philosophical conversation. If you’re arguing that you should only care about things that directly impact you, and nothing else, I’m not sure what to say.
Great comment. When someone says something along the lines of “it’s the President’s job to keep us safe,” you can usually be assured that that person is a moron.
You could easily do some research on this yourself so that you can get a good grasp of the situation, but ISIS was a direct consequence of the US “de-Baathifying” the Iraqi military. Read about where ISIS’s leadership comes from, to start.
Are you seriously arguing that there’s “NO RISK” involved with being a CEO? I mean, that is obviously not true even if you think about it for one second. Are there big upsides? Obviously. Are there massive risks as well? Yes.
This. The idea that being a high level CEO is easy is laughable. It may be inaccessible for many people, but it’s certainly not easy.
