"He isn't going to be charged," your statement, is hugely different from what law enforcement has actually said, which is that no charges are as of yet pending. That doesn't mean he will be charged, either, but it's much more ambiguous. The operative quote:

It's all a bit pointless to argue on the Internet

I'm going to reserve all judgement until the facts of this tragedy come to light. I know that's kind of anathema to the modern internet, where everybody seems to want to take a side and then defend their position to the death, facts be damned. I just feel bad for everybody involved at this point.

To be fair, I rarely see drivers make a legal stop at stop signs which requires:

The only people here who blow stop signs more then cyclists are car owners. I can watch all day and never ever see a driver come to a stop, or even slow down to a speed where they hit someone they wouldnt do serious harm. We all know how every driver stops at every stop sign ...

As a cyclist (and a driver), I always yield to the 2300+ pound object that can very easily kill me with no additional effort.

No, no, no. Fuck EVERYONE.

I think you meant to post here.

Your about the only one here that makes any sense. Unless you were there and are driver you are more then likely clueless. I drive sprint cars and there are things going on in the car during cautions that can take your focus a way from whats going on. no one expects someone to be standing on the track, the kids

Thanks for the video, Tony's visibilty would likely be even a little worse than the video give the camera has a better viewing angle. Try to see the track looks like a challenge in itself, looking through a helmet, two narrow a-pillars, not to mention the wing which looks like it creates a heck of a blind spot.

You're name really matches your mindset doesn't it....

Did you notice that Ward was walking towards the center of the track, and in fact directly at Stewart?

Uh, the guy right before Stewart, (that Ward stepped in front of first) almost hit him. If Stewart didn't see Ward until the last second then maybe that's why the quick reaction to avoid him...if that's what it was.

ward got closer to Stewart than any of the other cars, and other cars may have obstructed Stewart's view

I am reposting a comment from Missed-Minardi as it explains well.

Here's a good line from a very good take on Motorsport.com

That's a problem with a lot of the arguments on BOTH sides. Virtually no one knows a damn thing about sprint cars.

I like this statement, mainly because I don't feel it appropriate at this time for Tony to say anything more than this.
