At a Hispanic market, those chiles are quite cheap as are many things that would be expressive at the gringo supermarket, like limes, cumin, cinnamon, Mexican oregano, etc.

Complaining about fricking Jerry Reinsdorf at this point is kind of like yelling at clouds methinks. I haven’t lived in Chicago for ten years and any thought of him makes my blood boil. And as a lifelong Cubs fan, I really wish the Sox could get their shit together again. Nothing like a good natured feud among friends.
Great. So how long before some blowhard football talking head calls AAF players a bunch of jerks.
Life-long Blackhawks fan, now living in Raleigh for the past ten years. I, love going to Hurricanes games and now that they have a moderately decent team and more importantly, a FUN product, it is so much better. The new ownership has made a big difference and the attendance is coming back. I love the energy the team…
Anyone from Raleigh that knew him from the Whiskeytown days does not find this very surprising. I hadn’t heard anything about underage stuff, but the concept that "Ryan Adams is an asshole" elicits a yawn from anyone here over forty.
Any professional golfer or professional caddy or any good friend of either knows how the gig works and wouldn’t think twice about paying out the standard 10% cut. You stiff a caddy on the Tour and you’ll be lucky if you pick one up at the next stop. I guess you don’t tip in bars or restaurants either, especially if…
Joliet guy and it was always Milano, but it went downhill in the eighties or nineties. Still good, but I switched to Gonnella.
Whoa, don't get me started. Gonnella, duh.
They are like the Hooters of sports. Not great, but OK to see occasionally. But as soon as you get a favorite server, the next time you go, you find out that she left for a new job at the Twin Peaks in Bradenton.
I like that you say it gets down to -40 in January. Clever that you pick a temperature that’s the same in C and F.
I’ve lived in North Carolina for ten years and never ONCE seen cobb salad on a menu. Pimento cheese would be a standard NC game day snack.
I can’t believe that a restaurant in Pontiac, IL could even afford a TV commercial. I have been there and I'm surprised it can even support a Dairy Queen.
That’s because nobody in the state gives a crap about Charlotte. Plastic town with no soul.
+1 bindle stick
I was at that game! I had on like ten layers and a proper Chicago-winter level down coat and still never felt close to warm. I don’t know how you survived
That’s the problem. It’s barely more than a truck stop and there isn’t any passable Mexican food. Or any type of food actually.

Nope. I've ridden offset those switches on the many, many times.
Yep, at Union Station in Chicago, when it is very cold the scene is very much like your photo. I used to ride into there every day for years. They have those natural gas heaters for the switches because they are used constantly at commute times.
