This is an attempt to jump in the same bandwagon as Google’s Alphabet parent company rebranding. Someone needed to tell Zuck and Lucio that all caps does not a new name make.

It’s worse than hate. It’s ignorance of and disdain for the uniqueness of the properties. In their eyes they are assets to be controlled as they see fit to make money. There are zero editorial aspirations, just a cash grab.

I sympathize with the creators’ feelings, but I also agree with you 100%. Once the content is out there, authors should realize that trying to control how the public interacts with their work is an exercise in futility.
