Great idea. For online banking I do use temporary numbers: just log into your account, get a temporary number, and it expires after the deal is approved. But - for store purchases, this doesn't help. If my card needs changing after this, it'll be the 4th time in the past 13 months because of vendor breaches.

We keep being bombarded to change our passwords, but that doesn't help if the info gets stolen at the vendor's end. This will be the 4th replacement of a cc in 13 months for me - all due to vendor security breaches.
