Here’s the France24 story, including the claim that Hamas was in the building: https://www.france24.com/en/live-news/20210515-israel-strikes-high-rise-building-housing-ap-al-jazeera-offices-in-gaza-city

The building also contained Hamas assets. Whether that justifies the attack or not, I won’t argue, but at least report the entirety of the context.  Even the AP is acknowledging that there were military targets in the building.

“From the river to the sea” does not mean “Free Palestine.” It means the genocide of Jews/Israelis. People unfamiliar with the situation frequently equate the two. It’s just like how “Don’t Tread On Me” means protecting white supremacy not individual liberties.

You’re not anti-semitic huh?

Yes. This is more the point I was driving at in my original ham-fisted comment. There needed to be a more comprehensive plan to help both tenants and landlords weather this global crisis. They shouldn’t have to battle each other over a situation that neither had any control over.

Not to sound like my tinfoil hat is on too tight but this ultimately comes down to the banks and investors holding mortgage paper, right? If there had been a some kind of moratorium of mortgage payments, landlords and and renters wouldn’t be pitted against each other during a worldwide public health crisis that

I don’t think this it’s really fair to shame landlords either. Yes there are large real estate firms who manage buildings that can afford to wait for payment, but there are also just regular people who maybe renting out basements or a 2nd property that are struggling without that source of income.

every time I see or hear about Carter I am reminded how he used to be the poster child for “ineffectual liberal Democrats” because he’s a decent, smart guy, which as we all know (especially after the last 4 years) are the absolute worst traits one can have in the Fox News universe (I would usually qualify that with

My mom and I used to be exactly the same height, but she has shrunk noticeably in the past year, I think her forehead is about at my eye level now, and she’s more than 20 years younger than Jimmy Carter.

1) Have you met 100 year old people? They shrink. My great grandmother went from 5'4" to 4'8" between her 80th and 90th birthdays and weighed 68 pounds when she passed at 102.

As we were watching the President’s speech last night, I told my wife that he really missed an opportunity to reinforce that point. I so wish he had stopped after the line about the $400K limit, paused, looked directly at the camera and spoke to the viewer: “Stop and think about what you earn in a year. Is it greater

One of the smart things Biden has done, and I hope he doesn’t back down on, is daring Republicans to actually say their beliefs out loud, especially when it comes to economic issues.

In fairness to Blackburn and Vance, they’re both colossal fucking idiots.

Do you know who else supports universal preschool? People who care about children.

I love the sound of conservatives crying because of the free market decisions made by corporations.

The only time I had one, it was explicitly for gas or emergencies, with the understanding that you were in deep shit if you charged anything else to it. I just paid for my own gas, because I’m prone to bouts of severe airhead syndrome and lived in deep fear of misplacing a receipt.

I hate when anyone of any political affiliation tries to get the big chair from the jump. The last four years has taught us that high political position is no place for on the job training.

And Clint Eastwood, who became Mayor of Carmel by the Bay. He served a single two-year term, mostly to support small business but with an emphasis on environmental protection.

Celebrities never want to start from the bottom (city council, county board, state house), pay their dues and learn how the system functions or doesn’t function from the inside. No, they want the top job as fast as possible. No more celebrity politicians.

Okay but Trump had the same playbook, and he won.
