What doesn’t apply at all? Clearly you disagreed with something I said...and then you “supported” your position by writing a bunch of seemingly random stuff. I have no idea what you’re disagreeing with or what your argument is.

“There’s only one group of people who stole land from the Native Americans”
Damn. There’s nothing white people can say to Harriot, is there? If they say something racist, he gives them a shitty answer, as he should. If they express their desire to help, he gives them a shitty answer.
“You described your neighborhood as a mostly white suburban town”
Let’s not forget to address the fact that this driver tried to make a dangerous getaway with four kids in the car. Let’s fault everyone who did something wrong, not just the ones who have the wrong skin color or uniforms we don’t like.
The Root left out a very important detail: the driver allegedly hit a cop with his truck and almost hit a second cop when he tried to get away. This was mentioned by every other source that I read. Hmm...I wonder why the Root chose not to mention this.
“Y’all sitting up in a neighborhood created by decades of redlining, housing discrimination, voter suppression, school integration dismantlement, and etc other mechanisms of the war on black people.”
It was an observation, not a complaint. I don’t mind spending the money. I mentioned the expense to give some context for why my neighbors were annoyed. They’re spending all of this money on candy, and a lot of it is going to kids who aren’t even from their town or neighborhood. They felt that they were being taken…
Yeah, you clearly skimmed my comment. What you wrote doesn’t make sense as a response to what I wrote. Basically everybody but me already buys the cheaper fun-size candy, and they’re the ones who used to complain about the trick-or-treaters. The only person who could take your advice is me, and I didn’t have any…
You’re not. You’re just watching the media make you feel like the world is burning.
“Stephanie Washington, 22, and Paul Witherspoon III, 21, were sitting in their car enjoying each other’s company, kissing and singing along to ‘Nothing In This World’ by R&B Singers Avant and Keke Wyatt.”
“Ayanna Pressley said what she said, she wrote what she wrote, and she means it.”
I think you responded to me by accident. Clearly you wrote that to someone else. It doesn’t make any sense as a response to what I wrote. Literally every sentence of yours contains something wrong.
Are supporters of the Kate Smith version trying to protect the song or the singer? Shit, Dara Sharif. You should’ve asked me first. I could’ve saved you the trouble of all that writing and made this article so much shorter. The song. They’re trying to protect the song. Done. End of article.
“but how you explain the racist behavior of privileged white folks.”
“I grew up with a racist father. They are so unhappy with themselves and their lives, all they have to feel superior is the color of their skin.”
I get what he means about the trick-or-treating thing. He’s wrong to get mad about it—he just doesn’t know any better—but I get what he’s talking about. I’ll elaborate.
I wouldn’t mock someone for saying “enslaved peoples.” If it’s the term they prefer to use, then use it. But I would think that they’re being ridiculous by demanding that other people use the term. It’s just not necessary. There’s nothing wrong with the alternative.
Don’t get mad at me because you tried to add unlike terms. Blame your math teacher.
“Your ignorant privileged point of view is making the rest of us white folks look even worse than all the systemic racism still in place in this country.”
