Awesome Citation tribute post! I had a black 1980 Citation with a carb’d 2.8 liter. First car. $400 in 1990. It ran really well except when it flooded in the winter. Nothing I couldn’t fix with a pebble to hold the butterfly valve open. It would float the valves shifting out of 1st gear and felt like a boat on the

Reading this as an adult engineer “car guy” was like reading a smut mag article as a teenager. All the boost for you Raph.

Why would you hit the starter while someone turns the ignition?! I sense a Darwin award. I can typically whack the starter with a lug nut wrench (tends to be one in every car) and get where I need to go if it is the starter.

Dragging my feet on picking up a BRZ as a daily. I daily by tuned STi (380awhp). Hard to park it but at 170k miles and the money I have in the replacement engine I need to consider slowing her roll. I’m saving up and considering getting an RS. I don’t need an STi and an RS.

I agree! Well written. Let this common bond of automotive improvement and enjoyment of well-written insults heal your hatred of Subaru.

The cars learn the track then you can change their lane and speed.

Weird about the front wheel drive mode. Sounds like the center diff is disabled when braking.

Had the same scam when I posted our boat for sale. Two different out of state phone numbers attempting to setup third party agents for pickup. One attempting to use paypal for payment and the other attempting to use a cashier’s check by mail. Luckily I thought better of it. You covered the paypal overpayment scam and

You stole my line!? :-)

So butthurt. No boost for you. One year.

Yeah I get it except the Hellcat weighs half a ton more. It’s basic physics regarding acceleration (mass ad force). So to completely dismiss weight is dismissive of physics. No boost for you!

Sure to a degree. Moving an extra 1000 pounds would have an affect on acceleration at any speed but I get that it is diminished. It is literally half a ton though.

There’s no theory. They went 200mph in a factory equivalent Hellcat. Instead of saying the conditions weren’t possible perhaps they were favorable. Plenty of long straights on the highway. Perhaps even a tailwind and/or downhill.

Watch the video. It is identical to the factory car in every way according to the engineer in the video.

They have .65 over drive in 6th.

Now playing

I’d say 700hp is right around the number. Factory Dodge Charger Hellcat going 200mph+ and it is a bigger heavier car.

Oh yeah. Merkur has the same setup. I went through soo many T40 bits the Harbor Freight cashier cursed at me. Best method was to use different bits to break them loose. The bits would twist a little so you needed one for tightening and one for loosening. I still ended up cutting some but mine were completely loose

I see your point there. Ford installs Fox Racing Shox at the factory. Your point being they are factory installed and you can buy them through Ford.
