The Soul is always a good answer. Tons of them out there and can be found for very cheap. Friend bought a new (2016 I think) Soul with a manual transmission for $13k and still loves it.
Volvo 7xx and 9xx’s are surprisingly good city cars for a reason that is overlooked, the turning radius! It almost seems like the front wheels get perpendicular to the rest of the car. Not to mention the real bumpers that will come in handy for others that sometimes park by feel.

I recreated this in my Datsun 280zx when I was 16 after I read about it in C&D. Removed one of the hood vents, mounted the camera in its place and dropped a mic into the engine bay. Almost killed myself several times, burned out my clutch and the VCR ate the tape after I watched it once. Stupid.

The STS-V was glorious in a straight line. Borrowed my friend’s for a rally many years ago and beat so many Ferraris that day they stopped trying. Rare car too so most people didn’t know what it was. Only car I couldn’t keep up with (at all) was real Cobra with a very good driver and nothing was touching that.
For real, only way the 280 was hitting 60 in six seconds is if I drove it off a cliff.
