Actually, that financial success (especially after the launch of the iPhone 2G and apps store) came with the use of the middle-ware. It's now a waiting game to see if that success can continue without it...

Apple won't comment. With all the litigation mounting on this whole issue, Apple probably has said too much already with the whole 'don't hold it that way' or 'just buy a case.' I bet the PR team and the legal team are literally at eachother's throats right about now...

@geolemon: its not just a flaw, its a huge one! Forget the retina display, the thinness, the dual mics, the entire thing made out of glass (really?). If a phone can't make calls, it ain't much at all, and if a smartphone can't get online, it ain't that smart!

Fring should not have opened up their app to the iPhone market. Are they serious? Unless they intended on having the infrastructure or support from Skype to support a massive influx of users, they should not have tried this! Now, I can't video chat with my girlfriend on my Evo! Argh!!

Just got the white one for a buddy over the weekend... that's all they had and we had to pre-order it. Bestbuy said they only had one black one left in all of California, like in Pamona or somewhere... crazy!

@archercc: Yup, and this now makes me hate iPhone users even more... I was so happy to Skype with friends from my HTC Evo. While the blame may ultimately fall onto Fring and/or Skype, it's just so much easier to blame all the yuppies saying, "look what I can do with my iPhone!"
