Pretty much any suggestion that involves making mealtime a game is a bad idea. As is forcing a child to eat everything on the plate. Why anyone would want to instill a lifelong habit of eating past being full because there are scraps on the plate is beyond me.

I know this is anecdotal but I have known a LOT of immigrants from Mexico and Central America, and they have all migrated to where they have support systems, and jobs, already in place. Once the pioneers are settled, word gets back home pretty quickly.
