Oh, gawd. I know. I’ve used Voluminous forever and I’ve tried countless others both more and less expensive. Nothing is as good. But I guess that’s done now. Hope someone can give a solid recommendation.

I’m so sorry for your friend and I really hope she eventually got out of that situation and was able to heal herself and the kids.

No worries! So glad you’re back!

No clue. I’m gray on Lifehacker, but un-gray on Jez and all of its sub-blogs. I think the main blog has to follow to in order to get un-gray on all of its subs. So it would make sense that I’m gray here, I guess.

You can’t really sway a child’s allegiance. Your ex is using your daughter as a tool to get to you, and even if it messes with her opinions briefly, it won’t permanently alter her feelings toward you. Believe me, I’ve been through this. Kids know who it is that takes care of them, especially in situations where most

Seconded! I said the same on Fels Naptha below. But it looks like everyone is gray on Offspring.

Fels Naptha! It’s an old timey bar that my grandmother used and is still pretty easy to find. For odors, I have been known to put shavings of it into the wash and leave to soak about 20 minutes before letting the washer agitate. I’ve also never met a stain it couldn’t handle.

No clue what Rookie is doing these days. They always seemed like an outgrowth from the 90s girl zines, political with a side of fashion. Whereas Teen Vogue seems more like fashion with a side of social and political commentary.

I can’t give him an ounce of sympathy. If he doesn’t have the thick skin required, then he never should have run. This isn’t fragile mental health in the same sense as a normal person might have fragile mental health. This is the end result of 70+ years of failing upward and getting patted on the back for it.

I hear you and I don’t disagree. But neither the Economist or Atlantic intersperse their articles with fluff specifically geared toward teen girls. I think teens can enjoy following politics while also getting how-tos on the latest hairstyle trends from the same source.

I wish it was not this way, that we could put timely political stories in front of people without having to sell products that have the potential to undermine women and girls’ self esteem by making them feel less-than. But since this is the world we live in, I can’t even get mad about this.

I saw that. I don’t know what in the fresh hell is going on over there lately. Oy.

No. Under no circumstances would I.

The NYT has really been trolling lately. If it were any other publication, I would wonder why she was still being given a platform.

To your point about fixing what we have, there’s another trend of turning low performing schools and schools slated to be closed into magnet programs. This seems like a fine idea at the outset, bringing renewed interest into a failing school by specializing and overhauling the curriculum. But it ends up discriminatory

Perfect!

I’ll take a green room over a cum-vestry any day.

That’s the look of Prosperity: Jesus’s love and parishioners’ money.

Ack! Hahaha!

That poor woman. I hope she’s since found some new dreams?
