Well aren’t you naive and perfect. Please don’t dismiss the feelings of victims. This is not the fucking place #NotAllMen, christ.

The way the BDSM community goes in overtime trying to convince everyone that abuse rarely happens amongst them always seemed suspect to me. I’m sorry you were abused and intimidated into silence. :(
From what I understand, there are predatory men who stalk women in the BDSM community because it’s remarkably easy for them to abuse women there and get away with it scot free. The women are never believed. I am so sorry this happened to you. It’s so unfair. I believe you and Stoya.
I agree with you here but I think a guy who refers to sex as “banging” and women “chicks” is trying to get across a certain message and it’s not “I enjoy enthusiastic consensual sex with women whom I respect as political, social, and sexual equals.”
Wow.
UGGGGGHHHHHH WHY IS EVERYTHING SUCH A BUCKET OF SHIT LATELY
I’m so sorry this happened to you, Stoya.
I’ve been trying forever to piece together early warning signs of a rapist...but I can’t. You never know...the “nicest” guys I’ve dated engaged in non-consensual sexual acts with me.
As someone who was abused by a prominent member of the BDSM community and deleted my social media accounts because I couldn’t handle seeing him praised as a “feminist”, I’m awed by Stoya’s bravery. I hope she gets all the support she deserves.
Dude’s Twitter bio says “I bang chicks for a living.” Who believed he was a feminist??
To add to your comment, the flawed definition of rape also completely negates the importance of teaching consent. If rape is only about power, then teaching consent is meaningless.
While I agree that rape and sex are fundamentally different, the whole “rape is always about power and control, and never about sexual desire” thing that has been accepted as a truism really goes too far.
I’ve always been curious about something. Do some people feel something other than irritation at Sia?
After the Planned Parenthood attack, I had really hoped the topic of this song would be different. Bad timing to come out with a song that offers to take a million bullets for love—it’s not a metaphor I can get behind today.
Last week, M.I.A. released “Borders,” a rallying cry for the current refugee crisis. Today, she shared the song’s…
God only knows. Right after the outing post, a recently fired Gawker writer (Adam Weinstein) detailed how the firing process generally worked—writers stay on for a little while afterward, and then their exit is announced as if it was their idea—and that much of the turnover in the last few years had not been…
I think the most upsetting thing I learned during the fallout from the Gawker Conde Nast outing post this summer was that Lindy was almost certainly fired. It boggles the mind—she was easily one of the best writers Jez has ever had.
Hells yeah, Team Lindy 4 eva.
99.9% of movie watchers don’t know anything about film. So what? Still a good criticism of his work. His storylines, recycling disguised as odes, and violence and stereotyping for shock value is redundant.
I was just chilling, doing a little hunting, when I saw them roll up. I don’t like to pass judgement, but these guys looked weird. They were like a bad semi-Goth band with hipster tendencies for wool and poorly fitting jackets. Ugh, those hats were atrocious too. And they were rolling deep. Women, animals, you name…
