@Brent James Millard: Since its [2.xx] days, the base package has changed dramatically, and often not for the better. I find even a basic install to be pretty bloated when you compare it to itself 3 versions ago. (well, two since they jumped from 3 to 5).

I would really like Mr. Fahey to take a handful of the titles mentioned in the comments and continue to discuss this topic.

@CaptLtrl: Agreed, there's so much to adore in Zelda II. From the combat to the music, the xp system, wonderful dungeon layouts, to enemies sprites that you will never forget, if you were determined enough to get to the end you too will hold it up in esteemed regard.

@ShadowOdin is gonna be King of Kotaku: I never made the transition either; I disliked the controls for 64 and Sunshine, and I disliked the open world style, returning to the same areas, but Galaxy changed all that. Now Mario feels back to his old self again.

@VIIIthR: I think it's brilliant too. What a way to market by spinning the hardware spec debacle. Teh software is TOO POWERFUL!

@DarkEmperor: Cool video, my homunculus does parkour and he loves this video!

@cats_pajamas: conversely, when the CDN dollar goes up (like right now, sitting at near parity) exchange rates AREN'T taken into account and Canadians end up paying more for the same product bought in USD.

@krishna830: Dastan means story, a tale. It's not even a real name!

@xjkrcx: What if you place the K on a double letter score, and build KOTAKU over a double word tile, and then there's the always clever use of of your letters to extend a present word (tic - tick) then whoa, 9 points just became at least 30! :)

@gypsygib: what it says is that the 360's console sales numbers do not represent the installed user base.

@Alex_Mexico: yes, and at 0:29, 0:49 0:59, and 1:11.

@fuchikoma: Devs can still design games for 4 players with 4 move controllers (sans sub-controller), which means they did take into account crowding the camera :)

@The-Dayman: You know you can get colours re-inked for freshness?

@Chicken Pawks: excellent example with Mirror's Edge. I think gamers would have been much more willing to part with a modest sum for the Time Trials, and in turn, would have helped spur the sales of the full retail game.

@pitseleh0: I remember some of my favorite games were first sampled on a coveted game demos disc that accompany gaming mags back in the day, too.

@DirtyColossus: 1. Lots of people played Pikmin 2. If you liked the first one, you will love the sequel. Even if you didn't play the sequel, why would someone feel guilty? 2. In SSMBM Olimar is a legit pick. You can play almost any character as a douche, and every character has an exploitable weakness. :)

@Karlott: ditto. I would prefer a new CvM. Maybe after a new Darkstalkers!
