Is anyone else expecting the show to be like a parody of itself, or shows of that time? I mean, I get nostalgia sells but I have a hard time believing that Netflix in 2015 will make the same soul-crushing humor of the original.

Yeah, I also loved the A-plot and it was indeed epic, but you're right about the magnet school B-plot. It felt very by the numbers, like you could predict every joke pretty much, unlike Jake's story.
And Boyle's was better, I vote Go Ahead: Jake My Day

Caught up on some Berserk manga, which is horrifying. Also started season 10 of Supernatural, and I'm disappointed AV Club dropped coverage. I had really liked watching each one on Netflix and then checking back over here.
