Bring out the torches....

Still don't understand why everything always escalates immediately to death threats.

"There are hundreds of thousands of children waiting to be adopted."

Thank you. As an adoptee, this type of attitude just grates. It's condescending + woefully ignorant.

How many children have you adopted? I assume you know through personal experience the enormous cost of adoption, the amount of time it takes, and, of course, the possibility of being denied after all that investment. I also assume that you post identical comments on all articles about childbirth, and that you don't

" Adoption shouldn't be this last resort option only when everything else has failed."

Do you judge all biological parents for not adopting, or only those with infertility?

Since it's already started, I'll put my inevitable grey comment here. It's not for infertile people, or people who struggle to conceive, to save the world & adopt all the babies. Fertile people are just as capable of adopting as those who struggle to conceive. It's not up to anyone but the parents to decide how they

My friends looked into adoption versus IVF. They could adopt for the low low price of 4+ cycles of IVF. They only needed 1 cycle. They knew they wouldn't need more than 2 cycles.

That's sort of like looking at a horrifically mauled corpse and assuming the cause of death was the scrape you noticed on their knee.

Yeah, IVF rates are higher, but it's still a fraction of pregnancies and births. Insurance rates are fucked because the companies are fuuuuuuuuuuuucked. Not because of the range of

This is not the point of the story, but I FUCKING HATE fraternities and most of their members. Not every frat guy is awful, I know that because I know some of the non-awful ones, but the majority that I meet are complete assholes. I also live in Dallas which is the land of current and former frat guys, and they are

The desire to tell everyone something like that creeps me out. I don't hear life-destroying secrets and then feel eager to go spread them around, at all. The idea that her porn would be the shameful action, and not the "purposefully destroying girl's reputation for fun" is insane.

While this is currently good news for those with celiac disease and sensitivity to glutens, the other side of this will be when the fad dieters rush off to some other "new" thing and the stores cut back on gluten free to add whatever the newest fad is.

Could we please try these experiments with people that aren't already lovely with excellent bone structure??

$250K is a fucking lot of money. If I were given the opportunity she had, I can totally see doing anything and everything to win it.

When asked to comment, the lions responded with, "OM NOM NOM NOM NOM."

These shows piss me the fuck off, because the entirely commoditize fitness as a slog to the end solely for the purpose of meeting some ideal body shape. It's frustrating, because they show these miserable, sweaty, tired, probably unhealthy people rushing to lose the most weight for some cash carrot. But they don't

Yes, yes, yes! So much in your a statement that I wish could be printed in boldface on the cover of the New York Times until people got it. We have this bizarre cultural belief that being thin is automatically better.

I really hope you're being sarcastic here and I'm just not understanding. Because you couldn't possibly be serious in calling this woman "Former Fatty" and then commenting on what she "should" be doing with her own body, right? Please tell me I'm right.

I don't disagree with what's been written here at all, but I'll say I genuinely gasped when she walked out for her reveal. I was shocked. As I said that night, you know, who can blame her - she knows she's in a competition to win $250,000 by losing the biggest percentage of weight, and she won. Then later, I read an
