Yes, I agree with you. Speculating about the "reasons" for suicide—especially debating whether or not they were valid—is pointless. It always bothers me when this kind of speculation begins when a high-profile suicide is in the news. It's not like suicide is a rational thing. :(
Yeah, I like to work out, too, but I'm pretty damn thankful I'm not a model, personal trainer, actress, or in some other profession where my success depends on fine-tuning my body. There are SO many better things I have to do with my time.
If different body types are OK, why are ALL of her of her memes soley focused on appearance? They're not about what she can do or how she feels, they are literally about how she looks.
Her whole approach seems to focus on her appearance, though. I love fitness and working out, and am quite thin, but the things I enjoy—distance running, Pilates, cycling, etc.—won't give me a body like hers (she clearly does heavy weight lifting, which I've tried to get into, but just don't really get enjoyment out…
So, I want to start a shadow campaign to Fit Mom's that focuses on all the OTHER things "moms" could accomplish, other than attaining a very specific physical shape, if they stopped making excuses:
Agreed. It was only recently that I realized some people don't have the same automatic, permanent, pre-programmed aversion to ever driving after drinking that I do. Recently some of my friends were talking about how "yeah, I mean, we all used to drive drunk sometimes in high school and college" and I was like, what,…
1) This sounds encouraging and good—yay research.
Princeton Mom is proof that we should probably stop listening to people/giving them platforms just because they have an Ivy League school attached to their names.
I'm just really bad at being a troll. Sigh.
Asked this in another comment, but since it sounds like you're in the business, can you explain how 18-22 year olds afford these types of procedures? Genuinely curious—like, are there loans, credit card options, etc? It can't only be only kids with rich parents doing this stuff if it really is so common, right?
I think wrinkles are only abnormal if your definition of normal comes from TV. :)
Honest question: how in the world do people afford plastic surgery? Articles always talk about how it is booming and certain procedures are growing more common, and I have to imagine that most people who get it are pretty solidly middle class.
Yeeeeah that is obvious to me know. :) Sorry, I've been arguing with militant Paleo/"clean eating" advocates today and am probably a little touchy, haha.
Wait, I should also add this I get that this was a fun article and you aren't actually claiming that these foods should be banned or never eaten...right? :)
Really?
lol
COOL!
What exactly makes food "real" versus fake?
Jezebel, really, really, really needs to stop with all the pseudoscience.
