I’m guessing it’s because they wanted to keep it the beach town vibe of the book. I thought it was hilarious how obsessed they are with showing the Bixby Creek Bridge, as if anyone would be commuting in and out of Monterey over that.

Thanks for the internet hug - I needed that support today. I will read the book. I wanted to watch the show first so I’d be surprised by who-murdered-who, but was not expecting it to feel familiar. I don’t regret watching - it made me process my experience and that seems healthier than blocking it out. I can go on…

My favorite part of the series is when Madeline (Reese’s character) pukes all over the table at the dinner hosted by her ex-husband and his new wife after hearing the news that their daughter planned to auction her virginity for charity. It.was.awesome.
