^^this^^  it’s been INCREDIBLY disconcerting to wake up every day for the last 2+ years knowing that i’m smarter than the president.  knowing that pretty much everyone i know is smarter. 

and, in precincts where cops can’t afford to live - cities in ny and ca spring to mind - community outreach should be paramount.

yet so many people wonder why victims are reluctant to come forward. the ridiculously light sentences handed out to the abusers after the victims are made to rehash the details of their trauma can’t possibly have anything to do with it.  /s
