Oil is oil. Both lube the same. Mineral breaks down faster. Synth lasts longer. If you leave either in the engine too long it will gunk up with tar.

When it’s cold all the heavy contaminants in the oil sink to the bottom of cavities inside the engine. When you warm it up it stirs up the oil and the heavy particles are suspended so you get more of the bad stuff out when you drain it.

And a giant oil stain all over the driveway. I installed the oil filter without the gasket then started the truck and sprayed oil all over the garage. Dad was cool though just made me clean it up.
