Are they supposed to help clear bushes & vines from the windscreen? I can’t say that I’ve ever needed them, but they look cool.
This isn’t a river crossing. This is actually a religious ritual; the faithful hope to appease the Land Rover gods with an appropriate level of human sacrifice, hoping the Land Rover gods will grace them with reliable alternators, clear breather lines, and sturdy half-shafts. At least until the next full moon. See how…
I spend far too much time watching dashcam compilations on youtube, and I can guarantee that the next American dashcam on my feed will have a flat intersection of fast roads, controlled by traffic lights, but drivers have to be wary of traffic coming from many different directions, and they suddenly get surprised by…
Japan, and some (not all) of the EU countries have this in parallel. High standards of maintenance (ie lots of parts checked annually), plus high repair costs, and high taxes (usually emissions-based), means that the cutoff point for a car becoming uneconomical can happen much sooner.
Screw-in hooks have another problem; they inevitably screw into an off-centre hole, behind a slanted piece of plastic bumper, and when you need it you’re tired & stressed, so they often get cross-threaded.

I expect that this will only be short-lived. Boomers only have so many years left upright.
Those pastels are great! They have a very 1980s, Miami Vice vibe.
Slashing tyres is dangerous. Seriously, just put a small stone or piece of grit under the dust-cap, and screw it back down again - much less hassle, no risk, similar end result. If you really really need permanent tyre damage, you can come back 5 mins later with a sharp tool when there’s no risk.
Land Rover and Aston Martin? Maybe there’s some connection between “It’s a timeless product!” and businesses which struggle to develop new products so they just make the same old thing for decades.
Prince Philip served in the Royal Navy during World War Two, which is probably where his attachment for the military shade of green comes from.
Those were dark times. The “malaise era” wasn’t just for cars.
It looks like fun and, more importantly, I really wanted a way to get serious ankle injuries in scenic locations that ambulances can’t reach.
