Every time im at a club (really anywhere) and they play Chris Brown, I refuse to dance and yell "CHRIS BROWN BEATS WOMEN" in protest. I will not let myself or anyone have fun while his music is playing (recently have done this in Las Vegas and Uganda to mixed results!)
I HATED the Goldfinch but am loving this - almost finished. The writing is so intriguing (very casual and very formal at the same time) and I'm liking the characters a lot. The pace of it is also enjoyable to me - I find myself enraptured every time I pick it up, I see how this writer finished in a single night.
Now that she's "Oscar Winner, Emma Stone" she's probably too expensive for Netflix
She was amazing in Just Go With it, very worth watching a terrible Adam Sandler movie to se her perforamnce imo
*This isnt on the homepage for me - was worried you guys stopped coverage*
Does this mean Lorde has new music?!
(I hope there are dance tutorials for the first two songs on the blu ray release)
They would have needed to take some extreme liberties, but in a play it makes sense that we dont see beyond the house because that would overcomplicate things. But in a movie it feels weird just hearing about conversation that took place earlier when we easily could have seen them.
For me it was hard to see Affleck as authentic when he always speaks in a monotone, unenthusiastic tone.
Per Meriam-Webster: "Marked by abundant inventiveness". Everyone seems to be acting like it is this unique, creative movie and I found nothing special about it.
I think City ogf Stars is my least favorite song from La La Land, I much prefer Someone in the Crowd but I get why it wasnt nominated - too plotty
I hated Manchester, i thought it was pretty shoddily made (especially for an Oscar contender) and not in any way prolific (as many people say it is). I've seen all films nominated at this point and really, it has been by far my least favorite. If anything, the acting of the nephew is the only aspect i enjoyed
I do believe that La La Land, like Whiplash before it, is a technically perfect film. It's been rehearsed and planned to a T - there's no room for mistakes and the cinematography, set design, costuming, the way color is used, editing is just top notch.
Definitely depends on the theater to me, no one was playing the movie particularly loud - it sounds great on the soundtrack but you can tell its surround sound in the film, a bit different.
I'm afraid this will be like the election where in the beginning of the night I'm hyped thinking La La Land will win everything and then they start losing all nominations one by one and not to Moonlight, but Allied and Passengers. *shudder*
I loathed Manchester by the Sea and really really hope Denzel gets the Oscar over Affleck. Glad to see that its unlikely to pick up any other wins. Not only was I bored by the story and Casey Affleck just acting like Casey Affleck (if anything I thought the pretragedy scenes of him being happy were the only positive…
Regarding best picture: I LOVED La la land, ill probably be calling it my favorite film in a couple years, i saw it 3 times in theaters and am probably going for and 4th in IMAX, but I would be perfectly happy if it lost best picture to Moonlight (buy still hoping it wins everything else). I just think it would mean…
This is literally my favorite article of the year, ivery checked the site every day this month hoping for it
Because of the bias against her in the whiter categories?
