Doesnt SNL fall under this? Skits with celebrities, mysic guests, minimal "public" involvement. Also Jimmy Fallon's show has turned into a variety show that also interviews the guests. He's much better known for his songs and sketches than interviews at thhis point.

Jessie J fist got my attention when she sang at the olympics in 2012. I always wondered why, with a voice like that, she was never extremy popular in the US.
