You’ve been drinking the GM koolaid for far too long. The cars you have been driving are not competitive in build quality at all, unless you are comparing them to fisher price toys. The 14 Lacrosse is a huge improvement, really nice car, but it still isn’t built as well as a Lexus ES350.

You clearly don’t have a solid grasp on the auto repair industry.

I’m in the repair business so I’ve seen more of these cars than you ever will. They have terrible build quality. Junk plastic everywhere. The powertrains are very reliable, I completely agree. I’ve owned many GM trucks over the years. Reliable but crap build quality.

I wouldn’t argue they have improved, but so has everyone else. My response was also directed at someone trying to defend 04-09 Malibus and Saturns. All of which have horrible build quality. I am a big GM fan, but criticism leads to improvement and they have definitely come a long way.

So you are comparing a $40k car to a $25k car, it sure as hell should be better built. Toyota build quality has gone way down hill on top of that. Interior quality reminds me of 10 year old GMs. I drive an 04 Tahoe with 190k. It’s reliable but it certainly isn’t well built. An Audi or Mercedes is typically well

You will also find that they have been brainwashed and never driven anything else.

He didn’t say reliable, he said well built, which none of the examples you gave are.

They should give up on this platform. It’s honestly one of the worst cars I’ve ever driven. I don’t know how anyone goes car shopping and settles for a compass or a patriot.

What an outrage. They really should just be letting them die instead.

No jobs lost, but no jobs gained. Something severely lacking in the US.

Iphone updates that force you to buy their latest phone, nothing new.

I don’t know the particular engine codes but the Civic SI hatch that came out around the same period only had the 160hp version and not the 200hp version. We didn’t get the 200hp car until later on, maybe mid 2000s when it became a coupe again.

Except for the fact that when the RSX Type S was released you could not get a civic with the same engine, at least in the US. The RSX also didn’t cost all that much more than a civic and is a different car.

Even the s54 is a very reliable engine with very few issues beyond the early main bearing problem. Not hard to find E46 m3s for sale with 150-200k miles still running perfectly. BMW has some real shit engines and ridiculous problems but most of the inline 6s are fairly stout.

The e36 m3 couldn’t be a cheaper car to maintain. Overall reliable, cheap parts, easy to work on. Anyone who says otherwise has no real experience with it.

Or stop wasting all that time and use quality crimp connectors, which is the approved method for repairs for most manufacturers. Every single pin for electronic connectors is crimped on, no reason two wires can’t be crimped together properly and last the lifetime of the vehicle.

That car is horrible. Are you feeling ok today Michael?

She may be a hot 24 year old blonde, but was there something in that rant that she said that isn’t true?

Did anyone really believe this would be competition to the Germans?

I agree, its fairly arrogant to believe we control mother nature.
