God those seats. I was a punk kid in a Porsche dealership in 1977. That Optic seat set up was just just so “wow”. Manual: check. V8: Check. Expensive: Every day.

This goes back to ‘77... 4 of us set out in my ‘59 Willys Overland Wagon to ski Snowshoe. $100 for a week of food, skiing and lodging... Noted an Alabama tag in the lot as we pulled in. Over 10 hours, the temperature dropped 39F to 14F. I decided to get my skis and boots out of the cold car and warm ‘em up inside...

Patriots are cheaters. Period.

Got two recently. One paid for Netflix for the next 6 months & pre-paid sell service for 6 months , the other used for Apple so all my apps are up to date. Both cards are now residing in a safe place.

Long ago, when I sold BMW motorcycles (airheads still on the floor, as were K-bikes) we had a used car lot adjacent to the bike dealership. We took anything on trade. A G60 Carrodo came in with all of 10k on it. Driver’s seat was damaged but that was it. Otherwise a garage queen. It sat for months. Finally, a very

Sigh. I had a Samurai that had towed behind and RV for $1500... with less than 10k mileage and perfect, even had a winch. Drove it for 4 years, and sold it for $4000. Later a friend who had a used car lot called and said “bring me $99 and I have a Sidekick for you...” All it needed was a $9 valve cover gasket. Both

Not likely to move to SSD with a 1 terabyte drive in my Macbook Pro. And with 4 more terabytes in my Drobo - it may be slower, but speed ain’t everything.

Only bought one new car in my entire life - a 1988 Subaru Justy 4x4. $8k out the door. Finally sold it with 350,000 miles on it for $750. Currently in a previously owned 2004 Audi TT Quattro Coupe 6 speed manual and I have come to the conclusion that this is my last ICE (internal combustion engine).

Oh, the barber mobile... the stories I could tell. Beverly and Trilby taught me so much... and I only had to push - some of the time.

The only truly good deal I got on a used car was the 2004 Audi TT Quattro Coupe I drive today. I worked at the dealership, and the employee manual said, to whit, “...any trade in can be purchased by an employee for $100 over the trade in price...”

I am old enough to remember when they came out. Tried hard, very hard, to look at it objectively. No place or option for luggage of any type. Share no common gauges and other bits with other BMWs. Expensive to fix, live with and especially in Red and Yellow, a Ronald McDonald Express.

Manual, AWD or no go.

Here is to just wishing a little bit that Subaru would bring the Justy 4x4 back to the US. Did 390,000 in mine and drove it like I stole it. It was a latter day Mini Cooper S (not the modern one, but the old one).

I just they upload it up and show it on Amazon before my Prime membership runs out.

Great book if you want to read called “The Burial Brothers”. They drove a Cadillac Hearse from NYC to Rio... and a great twist at the end. Not heavy lifting, you can read it over two lunch breaks. Some good laughs too.

Ever heard of a “bucket shop”? They are all over NZ, OZ and other places. Boards in the window showing the cheapest flights from A to B.

I think your shipping quotes are way off.

I grew up driving Willys... Mom had a Jeepster, dad had a Forward Control cab over and a ‘55 Willys pickup, and I had a ‘59 Overland Wagon 4x4... miss ‘em all.

Sold my ‘59 Willy’s Overland Wagon and bought a ‘71 (no bulge hood, small bumpers) and truly learned to drive fast, in the mountains, with that willing double overhead cam engine and 4 wheel disc brakes. I learned a lot about working on cars too - and that set me on a course...

Old trick I learned years ago. On waking, wiggle your fingers and toes. It aids in circulation, and your brain has to engage to do it. I think I read it in the MIT Technology Review...
