I doubt that's the reality, given that they've been caught getting healthy, adoptable animals from shelters and then killing them just "because." They also have an instant-kill philosophy regarding pit bulls.

They claim it's because they receive animals in the worst condition — but they've also been known to put down puppies and kittens (perfectly adoptable), and thrown the carcasses in trash bins illegally.

This isn't about PETA euthanizing sick animals. It's about PETA killing healthy, socialized pets, without reservation. Their own statistics show a kill rate of almost 90%.

I've suspected for a while that PETA isn't actually about saving animals. Sometimes I wonder if they're actually a ringer created by the industrialized agriculture industry to give animal activists a bad name.
