Way to shit on a good time

Same issue. Really weird. I’m on Android if it makes a difference.

I know a hit/error is an either-or play, but Jesus, that’s a difficult stop for Hosmer to make. I don’t think he had to “atone” for anything.

I think you probably nailed it. He didn’t want to deal with people sobbing for him and they kept it private. Flip seemed like a real dude, a good dude, which are the best dudes, l always liked him and his sad puppy dog eyes. Will be missed, have fun in the next party monster my man

It sounds a lot like Roger Ebert’s death. He announced that he wouldn’t return to his website for the near future, and then died days later. A lot of times the family knows the diagnosis is terminal but doesn’t really like making that news public because then it’s like everyone is just sitting around waiting for the

My very first post said “announced this week” and unless I changed dimensions overnight and words have different meanings in this new land, yesterday is a small part of this last week. So yeah, I did read the article?

God damn, that seemed quick. Wasn’t it just announced this week that he wouldn’t return to the team this season? How does one go from *might* work this year to dead so quickly?

I don’t have kids, but if I did there is no way they would be playing football. iirc the little hits to the head, like those between lineman on basically every play, cause significant damage over the course of a season, so it would make sense that football players begin doing permanent damage as early as pee wee

Now that people have finally accepted the dangers of playing football in the NFL, I wonder if they’ll start doing similar studies on college and high school students, including those who play but don’t go professional. It’s entirely possible that the things we see in NFL players are contributed to by brain trauma

the only thing bartman robbed was a chance at a normal life.

One caveat on the glove . . . if you are in a hot zone for foul line drives and you are with a small child, it is OK to bring a glove (I’d also extend the acceptable-for-a-kid-to-bring-his/her-own glove age until 18). Once your child should be aware enough to (i) pay attention and (ii) avoid a line drive, don’t bring

Oh man, you think Bartman got death threats as it was? Imagine if he reached for a Cubs homer and had an extra base hit erased.

Yeah, analogizing this to Bartman is the weakest sauce possible. This is totally a Jeff Maier situation (though not as egregious as that one)

So YouTube is looking for people to pay more for this than I get my Netflix streaming for? $10 a month for fuckin YouTube get the fuck outta hereeee.

How is what he said, bigoted? Your use of the word, leads one to think you do not actually know what it means. Perhaps try engaging in honest debate, before jumping to hyperbole and rhetoric.

This. Also, wasn’t he outright asked about the subject directly? It’s not like the guys stepping up on a pedestal and spewing hate whenever he can.

“Raging homophobe” is a bit strong. From what he’s said on the subject, he’s got the very wrong-headed but much more understandable “Love the sinner, hate the sin” perspective that a lot of people have when they were raised very, very Christian.

I'll go to my grave saying Barry Bonds was the best baseball player I ever saw play. 2004 Barry Bonds was just the absolute apex of fear, power, and dominance. And it was probably only his second-best season, behind the obvious one.
