But that’s the thing with Ichiro. He had power, he chose to sacrifice hitting homers to bat .350. If he needed a homer for the cycle, he could have easily changed his approach and taken one deep.

I’m legitimately surprised Ichiro never hit for the cycle. I feel like he legitimately could have done it at will, like to entertain his teammates on a lazy July Sunday in Cleveland.

Whenever I meet someone who is a Jets, Mets, Knicks fan, I always find myself asking how a person can handle that much disfunction in their fandom. 

Same reason bank tellers are taught to hand over cash to robbers and get them out of the building. The small loss of the robbery is way less than the potential liability if they get violent or a hostage situation develops.

I think it’s the responsibility of all major league players to keep in mind that dealing with kids should be different than dealing with adults. What would be wrong with tossing it up and whoever gets it gets it?
