Bryce Harper is a self absorbed asshole, huh? I can’t say I saw that one coming.

Because unfortunately, after I hit my $4,000 deductible, I’m still responsible for 30% of all costs until I hit my $10,000 out of pocket maximum.
Unfortunately, WWE has been doing this since WCW went out of business. There is a lot of real talent out there, and only one major company to work for. Throw in a system of nepotism that often keeps the best from rising to the top, none of this is new.
And deGrom is getting an MRI on his elbow. Awesome.
My plan has no individual out of pocket maximum. It’s $10,000 either total or individual.
I remember that! Benitez was on the Giants. That was one of the great moments in Mets history. Reyes was totally in his head. Remember 2006? It seemed like Reyes & Wright were going to be their generation’s Seaver & Koosman or Doc & Darryl. I remember them popping champagne on the field when they clinched the East and…
How could you forget Ollie? The dude was plain old nuts. He was probably the most mentally fragile professional athlete I’ve ever seen. Even with the that, they were like “Well, he’s young and a lefty. Let’s give him $36M!”
I started a new job last year after being laid off from my previous one. This was my first experience with a high deductible insurance plan. Currently, I pay $175 per biweekly paycheck in premiums for a family plan with a $4,000 family deductible and $10,000 out of pocket maximum. We are able to contribute to an HSA…
The Familia signing reminds me of Ollie Perez. They got way more out of him during his first tenure than they ever should have. Everyone knew bringing him back would be a disaster, but they did it anyway. Now we need to look at him for the next 3 years. Here’s my favorite Cano excuse. “He’s so smooth it looks like…
I’m starting to lump Brodie in with all of this too. Re-signing Familia was dumb. There were much better options out there for similar money. I’m fearing watching Cano bat .200 for the next 5 years. The “Jeff McNeil can play LF” experiment has been a disaster. He should be playing 3B every day and batting 3rd. He’s…
I remember on WFAN they posed this question last April. “Is Mickey Callaway a baseball savant or the luckiest man alive?” simply because his decisions were so obviously wrong, yet somehow worked every time. By June we knew the answer.
Dee Gordon, Giancarlo Stanton, Cristian Yelich, Marcel Ozuna, JT Realmuto
I agree, but apparently there is some “Diaz only pitches in the 9th inning” edict that I guarantee came from Brodie. That said, it was obvious Familia had nothing that night. He got Gsellman up way too late.
I love our announcers, because there aren’t many that just aren’t blatant homers. I think Mickey is dead man walking right now. He’s not Brodie’s guy, and you know Brodie is looking to control all aspects of the team, including in game decisions. I think the hiring of Riggleman was just so they have an experienced…
Wow. I was way off. I figured it was some kind of bug I’d never heard of.
Once and for all, can somebody answer a question that’s been bugging me for years?
I think the peak of his ineptitude was Monday night, when he sent up his last bench player, d’Arnaud, as a pinch hitter, to fucking bunt.. He used his last batter, and backup catcher in a tied extra inning game, when you’ve got 4 starting pitchers who are proficient at bunting just sitting there. Of course, he bunted…
Callaway’s managing has been so mind numbingly awful this season the fact that this team is above .500 despite him is a miracle.
The NBA brought in $8.1B in revenue in 2017-18. The WNBA brought in $51M. Just because both leagues play basketball, comparing the salaries of their players against each other doesn’t really work. You’d have to compare the WNBA salaries to a professional lacrosse league or something along those lines.
I would assume the same would apply to pro bowlers or pro lacrosse players and such. If you choose to make a career as a professional athlete in a sport that doesn’t pay a huge salary, you’re going to have to play year round and in different areas. I had a cousin that bowled professionally for a few years. The…
