Ok, I know there are people who, absurdly in my opinion, believe that The Shield is only the second or third best finale of all time, so I was ready to see it dissed with a mere top three finish. But to omit it entirely... I have no words. You people have lost touch with reality.

Not just the zingers in the script, but the reaction shots in the congregation (audience?) during the three speeches and one pathetic breakdown. Some of the facial expressions were punchlines in their own right, from Menken and Madsson and the olds in particular. Brilliant stuff. Perhaps the funniest episode yet.

I certainly understand why people do not connect with this show. Everyone in it is irredeemable, with the exception of the few “ordinary” people who drift into the Roy family orbit and are chewed up and spit out. But while The Wire and Breaking Bad are still my favorite shows of all time, Succession may be my favorite

Roman is awful, but is he as bad as Shiv? I mean, he seems to have come to terms with his own shortcomings. She still thinks she’s smart enough to play the game, and because she so over-estimates herself she ends up handing the country over to a fascist. And Tom’s “is that even true” was a perfectly reasonable

attempts to broker a deal with the FBI to inform on her former exes”

What makes someone a former ex, as opposed to, you know, an ex?

They lost me with “Howard the Duck” in dead last. Time for a reappraisal surely? Are we really still hung up on Duck-Lea Thompson sex in 2023?

I’ll take “shows that started strong and then fell off a cliff” for 20, Alex.

I can’t believe this week’s episode had me cheering Conor forking Roy. first for telling the GOP candidate to take a hike and second for taking Willa’s feelings about Oman seriously. Is their relationship the healthiest on the whole show?

Also, the best line: “A bit car-bomby.”

People in satire don’t talk like people in life.”

Err, yeah.

The fact that this climactic speech is, ultimately, presented as a victory for Kendall is one of the odder aspects of Living+.

His speech was, by any objective standard, an epic fail. The numbers are absurd and would fall apart under even the smallest scrutiny. I was laughing and cringeing all the way through, and in

If you thought he was bad in Eternals, try to find Bodyguard somewhere. It’s utter nonsense and there’s not a single moment in it where he is plausible as a human being, never mind as a bodyguard.

It always amazes me to see that shows I watched half an episode of and then gave up on — looking at you “The Mayans” and “Fear the Walking Dead” — are still on the air, and have somehow racked up multiple seasons. Did either of them ever get good?

Not much is known about the plot of Meg 2...”

And yet, in a way, everything is known.

Wolfen should be on there somewhere, I think.

Ir wasn’s exactly premeditated murder though. Misadventure or manslaughter really.

So in terms of consequences, what Kendall did might be worse. But in terms of culpability, it’s Connor all the way.

I was hoping for a seriakuzed version of the early Woody Allen movie — which was sort of Zhivago with philosophy jokes and remains one of my favorites.

That’s so strange. She has an urban vibe. I have no idea what that means, except that she just seems like to have a city girl attitude. And again, I have no idea what that means.

Also, Taken is not a revenge movie. He is motivated by his desire to get his daughter back. It’s a rescue movie.

Is Piranha II: The Spawning really worse than Avatar?

I think the New York thing comes from the fact that this was such an urban legend in NYC in the 70s and 80s... parents buying baby alligators then flushing them into the sewers when they got too big. It just feels like it should have an urban setting, so finding out it’s LA is... jarring.
