Well there is ARK survival evolved. It doesn’t have helicopters but you can tame and ride T-Rexes, build mobile bases on the backs of bronto’s and fly around on pteradactyls. Eventually you can craft guns and more high tech stuff as well. Still in early access but really good so far.

I never said a word about their fanbase as compared to Minecraft. It won’t have as large a fan base but there will still be enough of one that a modder is likely to make a mod to make OR work if they don’t release official support.
