Well we’re on the same wavelength....

“we wouldn’t be surprised if it came out that something was wrong with the plane”

You want one sheet? Suuuure... we can give you one sheet...

It’s the car they* didnt want you** to have.

Protecting US Automakers protects hundreds of thousands of jobs.

Yup, China has three strikes:
1) Undermining job security with subsidies and inhumane labor practices.
2) Spying. The kind of electronics in cars creates a real security concern.
3) They provide support to Russia, and probably Iran, being the most powerful member of a group focused on destroying our country.

All of this!

They’re not just destroying their margins, they’re destroying their value for their customers. It’s a common belief that any car loses a considerable portion of their value the moment they drive off the lot, but that’s in the resale market. It’s a whole other ballgame to pick up a car and the very next day find out

And all the legal hassle Of having to prove without a doubt that you weren’t at fault because a family member of asshat is trying to come after you after asshat died being an asshole at 120mph, into your rear glass.

What did I just read? In no reality is JJ’s better than Jersey Mike’s.

But you could drive the Corvette on date nights! You could get to your vacation destination faster! Your kids can drive themselves!

Tesla has always given me a strong vibe of “this car is not truly complete.” I had some seat time in a 2023 model and for one, the freaking cruise control wouldn’t work without a software update. The screen was nice and big but the position was terrible and the interface looked no better than a 2nd rate smartphone.

As far as apologetics goes, that’s pretty wild.

BTW. These the arguments that our elected officials should be having amongst themselves. Where is itappropriate to regulate? Not showing Hunter Biden (a private citizen) dick pics.

It’s not just subsidies, thought that is part of it, the cost of labor is vastly cheaper, which is a sticking point the US, and frankly Canada and the EU will NEVER be able to compete on.  It’s just impossible.

Partial car at full price.  What a strategy!

Chinese automakers have already made it to the EU and some of their cars are winning awards. So what if its the other way around? What if in fact these are actually good cars?

We’re reaching the capitalism tipping point Year over year growth and record profits every year is not sustainable.

Gotta pay to train them too, of course. It is insane we make people fund their own training, when they have to cover the costs of the training and the daily living costs too during that training, and then we wonder why we have shortages. Pay people to learn, pay them a wage while learning, because people. But we

I’ll make a very gross, generally sweeping statement. Most vehicles that have been modified by what amounts to adult children- people who are either immature or never really grew up, applied themselves, got an education etc usually means they also create monstrosities of the worst possible taste.
