Look I have been cooped up in my house with a 50lb sack of rice and a fort made out of #10s of beans.

Fuck a rattle.

I heard a funny story about a guy everyone kinda hated at work. So they'd slide quarters down beside the window trim moulding into the door cavity in his car. Just to make it rattle. Lol. Kinda hilarious.

The State of Michigan is simply trying to improve your fuel mileage and driving dynamics by adding lightness to your cars. It’s also why they try to turn them into rust ASAP.

This guy knows.

Erik should be writing for Readers Digest.

I’m not sure that his motivations extend beyond being contrary for the sake of drama queening... let’s him be obnoxious without examing his own feelings or having any introspection. A contrary-reaction-bot that likes to observe drama.

The Fit/Jazz is such a remarkable piece of shit. I don’t understand how anyone could buy that car when there are so many more compelling options.

Hey, you can’t be sure where that plate frame was built.

You should have very politely explained that to him.

You should have.  100% should have.

Careful telling regular salaried people that their work from home is “all tax deductible”. That is simply false.

It’s not deductible for your federal taxes.

No but only to the point it actually increases.

Thank god you have an accountant.  Specific rules apply for some of this. And when you do it also needs to be counted as pay.

Might not save as much on the business side because now you have all the  businesses doing SFH so who do you sell the real estate too? Then again change commercial space to residential and housing in expensive cities gets cheaper.  But poor government gets less taxes to waste.

Well I think a lot of companies will see it that way. Most never reimbursed commuting expenses, so it is easy enough for them to point to that and say “we’re both saving money so whatever”.

My girlfriend who works at a financial company, is getting a $500 stipend to cover past or future office equipment for home. No strings attached.

Assuming that the trend towards WFH continues, it will be interesting to see how things go. Some kind of sign on bonus in order to get a home office set up makes sense. If you set up an office at home and use is more or less exclusively for work, you may be able to deduct some expenses (rent, property taxes, etc).

This includes internet and cell phone bills - also can be 100% deducted on taxes if not reimbursed.
