To be clear, I’m not trying to defend Elon. He’s a piece of shit and what he’s suggesting here pushes America closer to it’s own version of the French Revolution (which is exactly why Elon knows he would need a ton of security).

It can’t be fixed quickly because the truth is that there is NO motivation to fix it, just like there is NO motivation to “fix” America’s immigration “problem” (fix/problem in quotes because IMO, it isn’t really a problem).

I really don’t know how you stop this at this point. No amount of messaging, laws or penalties stops people driving while glued to their phones.

Unless I have a connector, this is me now as well.  I pack a full carry on, then gate check it.  Most times, you don’t even have to go to baggage claim as gate checked bags will be brought right to the jetway.  Not having to worry about overhead space means I can be one of the last people on the plane, no problem.

“Gate lice” exist because airlines created baggage fees outside of the normal ticket price. People are trying to get in early so they have a place to store all their shit because they don’t want to pay extra fees for an already terrible experience.
