I have a pile of books to read and no time to read! I love Levar Burton’s new podcast, he reads contemporary short stories in a variety of genres.

wishing you the best of health.
YAY! for creativity!
so sorry you are going through this. If there are any other encounters, try recording them on your phone - if you are on a public street, there is no expectation of privacy, so you don’t have to get their permission to record
keep your options open, it sounds like he just wants his way, not that he’s changed his mind for you.
good luck in nursing school. Money might be tight, but you are doing something that you’ve wanted to, and the 2.5 years will be over before you know it!
I hoping for a quick recovery. {{{hugs}}}
Good luck with the job search
I like the look! And you may want to join Angie’s List (you can join for free now) to search for contractors & read reviews. Good luck!
We’ll always have this clip of Mario Cantone on the President Show: http://www.cc.com/video-clips/tk7ae7/the-president-show-welcome-to-the-new-reality
thanks for the advice! I have a list of addresses & a map from the party committee, I’ve already talked to another candidate & we will try to walk together (we just have to wait for the party brochure for all candidates to be printed). I’m reading Get Out the Vote, and it mentions the research on door-knocking, too.
thank you. I’m running for a “down ticket” office, but I’m sure people still have their opinions about it and want to be heard
thanks! I’ve looked into Toastmasters, I just have to find a meeting that fits my schedule
thanks so much! Door-knocking will start after Labor Day, I’m just getting a head start on my anxiety about it! ;)
wow, it’s hard when adult children have to take care of their parents. Would your father consider re-homing the dog? Also, has he ever set up a budget - where will that car payment come from? Sorry, I don’t really have any advice but hope the situation works out for you, your dad, and the dog
woo-hoo!
congratulations!
take care of yourself. Even though you’ve been taking care of your father for the past 7 years, you are not responsible for him or his actions. He’s an adult who relied on his own child for the last 7 years, he has to be responsible for himself, or live with the consequences of not being responsible
congratulations!
Politics thread - is anyone else running for local office? I’m excited and super-anxious at the same time. As an introvert, I don’t want to have to go door-knocking, but that’s a major part of campaigning, so I have to deal with it. Any advice, or commiseration will be welcome.
