Ehhhh....I think they were both equal. Sure, TAS had episodes that will never, ever be made today, but TNBA had stuff like Never Fear or Growing Pains, which I actually think are just as strong as Heart of Ice.

Thing is, Bruce Timm actually loved the episode. He actually selected that episode to do one of the handful of commentaries on the DVD set precisely because he thinks the episode gets a bad rap.

I’ve said this all before, but the Sequel Trilogy wasn’t completely bereft of good ideas. In fact, there were plenty. But the execution almost across the board was absolutely terrible.
