H Christ. He forgot a space.

Wow. Just fucking wow. Fuck this guy.

When I was 16, (1991) I walked into my local Napa with a misfiring Datsun. We had just steam cleaned the engine, and I was clueless. The owner came out, looked under my distributor cap and announced that I had fried the distributor, and needed a new one, for more than I had paid for the car. I wasn’t that dumb, so I

Absolutely right. It was needed though, so we have another litmus test. My personal favorite, which I call the Redneck rule, states that a person’s base intelligence decreases in direct proportion to the ride height increase of their pickup truck over stock. Another 50 points are deducted for mud tires on the highway.

Um, cops have had permanently installed radios that stay in place during full on car chases for literally decades. Hands free microphones for at least 10 years. And they are hardwired to the vehicles electrical austem, so no batteries. So, no. Sometimes old school, low tech is better. Simple = reliable. Considering

I am stealing your idea, and using it. Thanks!

Lol, yes. Your almost - literacy is pretty much the example why.

If he wanted to read Twitter, he’d read Twitter.

I’m with you. I hate Twitter. It’s gotten to the point where straight up NEWS ARTICLES are nothing but a headline and then a list of other people’s tweets, which are invariably punctuated exclusively by multiple!!! Exclamation!!!! Points!!!! But me? I’m greyed.

Ok, I am confused. He left a steady job to intentionally be homeless, and only needed to raise money when his GF left after “becoming tired of the nomadic lifestyle.” Sounds more like she was the one with money and got tired of supporting her loser boyfriend and living in a car. I’m all about helping someone down on

Big and low is ok for moms, except when they specifically say they DON’T WANT THAT.

More worrisome to me than difficult emergency access is the lack of no-power egress. Seriously? Out the trunk?

Except the guy asking the question said first thing his mom didn’t want a low slung car. Just comprehendin’.

I’m gonna bitch about the vertical video anyway. Because vertical video. SCREENS AREN’T SHAPED LIKE THAT. If we all refuse to watch them, and websites refuse to post them, maybe people will GET A FREAKING CLUE. Cool story though; even if it was a bit embellished. Any other car he would have survived? Come on. 85

Touché. Looking back, it was fun. Except replacing the spider gears.

I should also mention, it was a diesel...

Keep in mind that it was 17 year old me, in 1992, but we did that! The spider gears exploded when I tried to do a burnoff. On gravel.  Hammered in replacments from the junkyard (with a hammer!) and it lived a little while longer.

Pretty sure a “first generation” Silverado would be a 1975, since that’ when they were first made. You kids nowadays seem to think that cars weren’ made before you were born. And yes, I know I am commenting on a 1 year old post.

Exactly. “Emotional support animal” = ”pet.”

Well, perhaps you aren’t stable enough to travel, then? I do have sympathy, and I’m fine with service animals trained to help a disabled person, but “emotional support animals” and “companionship” animals are “pets.” Keep your pets out of the friggin grocery store, restaurants, and sealed metal tubes where people
