If the Golden Smog albums have somehow managed to escape you, I strongly suggest them, especially Down by the Old Mainstream and Weird Tales. It seems the people in side projects like this don’t always offer up their best work, but there are some great songs on those albums.

I swear I couldn’t recognize Louris without glasses. I wonder if that violin player is the same that’s currently accompanying the Jayhawks.

I’m a fan of the Jayhawks, and I like Louris and Olson’s clean harmonies, but I like when Louris and Tweedy harmonize, as well. It’s much rougher, and more like drunks singing in a bar. There’s another chunk of that concert:

Had I listened to that on the background I’d have thought it was early Jayhawks!

Apparently, this was shot with two cameras. The camera work is terrible, and the video editing is worse. But the sound is good.
