I know the op didn’t mention gender but you know managers come in all shapes, sizes, and yes, genders? I used to work with Ryan Adams, and his manager for the entire time (at least while I was there, which was a little more than a year) was a woman. So maybe SHE is looking at HER reflection.

I’m not defending the guy but I don’t think this phenomenon is only towards women. I can imagine it’s for a similar reason politicians don’t get behind social causes or mental health issues until it hits home by affecting a family member. Such and such politician is anti-gay until they have a gay son or daughter...now…
