I just rewatched S3. Decided that Carrie was never really "in love" with Brody. She wanted to be. But she needed him to do something to redeem himself, so that she could live with herself, if she was going to love him. THat's why she pushed him. All about Carrie. "If he'll do this, then it will be OK for me to Love

Yeah, I got so pissed I had to rewatch seasons 1-4 to see if some light hit me to understand. And there were many parallels I didn't catch, like Winn's hospital room etc. BUT point: season 5 was the WORST season. Had no thread, nothing. Choppy and out of focus. And frankly, character points I. just. don't. get. —— the

*claps* "It was an awful disservice to the greatest performer of the season, the
most interesting character and the one that had the most potential for
serialization in post-Brody Homeland."

felt insulting and gross.

Agreed. It was horrible. I've reatched season 1-3 just to try and get her. he was cold to Brody too. She fed him to slaughter for her own soul. She couldn't justify loving him, or leaving her life for him, if he didn't redeem himself in her eyes. So, she put him through shit in Iran. So, her waking Quinn, guess she'd

YOU MISSED IT! Quinn says "Fate… destiny" —- *door knocks* it's Saul. He wants her back in the CIA. Get it? Her fate. And what is happening to Quinn is his. It was actually perfectly well done, once I rewatched and realized that. There is a lot of hidden meaning.

rewatching now seasons 1-4 —- and that finale and the season in general post-ep 5, just not very good. Wildly different show. It's like something happened behind the scenes. Ep 5 forward, was just not up up Homeland's par.

I agree it was too quick and unrealistic. In effort to be PC and show not every brown man is after Jihad, they have one decide to rebuke the others. Not reality. Terrorism is. Tunnels and sarin gas is. The only hole was how it was diffused. They can find another way to make their "all Muslims are not bad" point.

Not shock me at all if she marries him, as her cover in CIA or later finds out Otto is financing something, and uses him undercover — but i'm doing a rewatch and seasons 1-4 were just better. Season 3's "Iran" plot w/ (I don't know his name) but he needs to be revisited!

if he's dead, then, i feel it was made to look 98% dead. Basically said, implied, she allows him to die or she pillows him. Intended for there to be no real question of death but of how Carrie would handle. It was about Carrie. Sadly, indirectly about Quinn, but more her response. It leaves SO many holes as you've

i had heard through a Showtime employee friend, his contract wasn't completed at time of finale shooting. WHether that is true, i can't vouch. But I was told it was left ambiguous for that reason. But this could be a, well, lie.

i always felt her Brody shit was her bi-polar. It was extreme, manic. Not really stable. So, my view on Quinn is it could have been less wishy-washy, S4 finale she was gonna spend rest of her life with him. "I looked for you everywhere I went" — BS. Carrie wants something she gets it. She doesn't stop. THey backed off

Exactly. he's the one that led Carrie to the final stand-off. He lied. He knew. He may have not had the play-by-play, but he heard them forming a plot.

oh, sorry but BS. He KNEW about he plot. He can jump. Saves a bullet. You know about terror plot where thousands will die. You lie about it, sorry, BYE.

TOo much to type. It would cause physical pain. But I say this with just "duh" observation of viewership and ratings — with RF out, so is the show. He's really what's been driving it forward. People get the "spark" from him — aka his badass ep last season invading the embassy. He "The guy" — and the dynamic of he and

that'is on the writing, not trusting the viewers to be intelligent enough. That's why I say, do that flashback in ep 1 or 3 with her crazy, I-am-off-meds scene… then when it clicks for her, just show Carrie's eyes. Period. We can put pieces together thanks.

i think that's her point. it's truly a terrible failure. THe entire finale of season 4 was "Will Carrie give up her life and be with QUinn" — after several season's of obvious feelings. He sends her "if I die letters" as he boards his trip to kill bad guys, in bad guy land. Then the build up that finally brought them

Dr J's points have been very valid and I agree with all. He understands the process of storytelling. Frankly, though I loved the first 5 episodes. After QUinn crawled away. the season crawled with him.

I've not every seen her this dumb or flat. Sorry, not eloquent. Even her behavior while questioning Alison fell emotionless. I know she's "running for her life" but I don't FEEL that. And I hear her talking about her cabin and her kid and Jonas… like a yearning plea. But I feel nothing. Pro bc we never saw it. Poof

BLESS you. That's what I'm preaching. LAZY storytelling., way too convenient story weaved
in, with literal cabana boy in toe. That flashback should have been early in the
season NOT the same episode. So when the reveal happens on the screen savor, it would have been organic. Still boring… but not contrived. These
