Yes, that’s actually what Mitsubishi have been all the time. Their sedans, being mostly FWD-based, is built around the premise of utility (“family sedan”), while giving best performance available for the platform without sacrificing reliability and serviceability.

I like the 4th gen Eclipse’s body style almost as the 2nd Gen. If they’d just thrown an EVO drivetrain in as an option I might’ve gotten one and they’d probably have sold more of the base model

They did take to basic mods rather well, and could easily be made to push close to 285 crank with almost nothing but intake, axle back and a tune. I just REALLY wish they had brought back AWD.

This is basically the experience i’ve had with my 350z over the last 10 years. Only RWD but also significantly less practical (no rear seats whatsoever.)

Be nice now. :-) I have an 07, v6 and 6 speed manual. The V6 is a nice touch. I wouldn’t want a 4 cylinder; I really do like having the added torque.
