Living through the blobby, less powerful last-generation Eclipse was bad enough.
Goddamn after 30+ years I still hate rap music.
What?! When was Jill Stein invited to Moscow by Putin? Sources please.
Oh stop picking on the poor Galant. Its last generation in Ralliart trim was MUCH more impressive then Jalops give it credit for. See paragraph where it beats a 911: http://www.motortrend.com/cars/mitsubishi/galant/2005/mitsubishi-galant-ralliart/
Nice find. Sure glad there’s a bicycle post leading the thread.
Oh no I believe you, and agree. Just emphasizing ‘more reliable’ based purely on my own experience.
I’m not entirely sure about that. Sure, all cars do better when you take care of them, but I haven’t seen any friends, family, coworkers, etc have that kind of reliability with other brands, especially ones that have a significantly higher perception of quality like BMW, VW and Ford.
Honestly, I really don’t know why they have such an unreliable reputation, especially here on Jalopnik, but it can’t just be good luck for me. On my current Eclipse, the only repair I’ve had in 10 years was replacing the CV boots. I take the best care of it I can, but it’s hardly babied. It’s been 10 years of intense…
I’ve only owned 3 cars in the last 24 years, all were Mitsubishi. For a fanboy, this is like Fantasyland. Speaking of fantasy, wouldn’t it great if Mitsubishi corporate had the creative guts and, god forbid, money, to support this wonderful couple and create the ultimate Euro Mitsu Museum and Classic Car lot?…
Just can’t have a conversation about Mitsubishi around here without someone inevitably changing the subject to Subaru.
I’d like to hire Jason to investigate the ‘packing tape on trunk lids of Scions’ phenomenon next.
My wife bought one new in black (the RA version) and loved it for 9 years. She did many of the mods this owner did, including the under-drive pulley and Progress rear sway bar. That Mivec engine was bullet proof, never an issue through 100k miles, and the interior on the Ralliart is nicer than what’s in an Evo today.…
Car and Driver’s latest 0-60 times has the Focus RS at 4.6 and the Evo FE at 4.4. I realize that’s splitting hairs, but shouldn’t the RS have stomped the Evo, let alone lose to it? Why do you think that is?
(probably someone who got burned by that $0 down/0% interest/$0 monthly payment for 12 months scheme/scam they ran in the early 2000's).
So compared to Monday’s review of the Outlander, the QX60 costs around $16k more, adds an extra 1,000 lbs and only around 40HP, with a CVT and inferior AWD system. Hmm.
The Outlander’s warranty matches Hyundai’s.
My wife just got the GT and LOVES it. I replaced the all-seasons w/ all-terrains and it did very well in deep snow and ice. Fun can be had in the GT. The improvements for ‘16 are very noticeable. That 3rd row everyone loves to laugh at is perfect for kids in a pinch, and they love it back there.
Hey, you’re right! Cargo room is impressive, but it still can’t seat 7 and no AWD/locking diff. Of course that’s more than enough than what a good deal of SUV buyers need, I get it, but the questions was “why not get a wagon”, those are 2 reasons why.
Yes, actually, I was referring to 3rd row seating, which is becoming available more on mid-size CUVs.
