Yea, this is just a way for them to have an excuse for not having them around constantly. I remember the first half of the season and Joey was made a big deal in the first episode, then he pretty much disappeared for like 3 months, coming back in the last episodes before the break.

Guess it depends on how long her other show could be. If they're both half-seasons (maybe they make her other show a midseason replacement at first, so it's not a full season) it'd be a lot easier to schedule.
