I hope she becomes the next Marvin Miller, even though that might mean torching a couple seasons for her goals to be met. I’m assuming there will be one strike to reform the system, and another about a decade later when owners try to claw it back like they did in baseball. It depends on if the players will stick

His brand of “pull up your pants and stop using naughty words” brand of morality was bullshit anyway.

Michele Roberts vs. the NBA owners has a chance to go down as one of the greatest labor disputes in recent memory. She’s going to embarrass them, and it’s going to be amazing.

The last time I was in Indiana a cabbie pulled a gun on me over the $5 he wanted me to pay for some drunk guy I didn’t know who was also in the cab. It was a pretty average night out in South Bend.

Here you go:

I must need a Palin-to-English translator to understand this woman.

My father was indeed a cult leader, and I spent the first seven or so years of my life in a cult. It was smallish (~20-25 people, at various times), and we never made the papers or anything, but I had a very strange childhood, for sure, and I’m still fucked up in a lot of ways because of it.

...your father was a cult leader?

My mother, who was fiercely intelligent, spent nearly a decade of her life in a religious cult, something that affected her until the day she died. The thing that broke her to the point that she was receptive to my father, who led said cult? Her husband having an affair with and then abandoning her for her best

Been 7 years and she’s already talked about this but I think she has a tour coming up so time to talk about it again...so I’ll say it—get over it and stop capitalizing on it for your ‘events’ because that’s one way it will come up over and over.

(not what you asked for, but...)

you want to mount a mountie? (sorry)

In the grays everyone is talking about how the song was written by a former slave owner, but that doesn’t NOT make the song a Negro spiritual.

You didn’t expect Clarence Thomas to let Antonin Scalia drive the whole trip to Crazytown, did you?

The process of getting a job playing professional sports could not be more different from the fairly ordinary act of getting housing for oneself. I don’t think it’s appropriate to even compare the two, especially in the context of legal rights.

My two favorite things are the NBA and housing discrimination. And kicking puppies - Donald Sterling

Uncle Thomas?

So... just following Thomas’ logic.... it’s OK to discriminate in housing to millions because maybe a thousand people get to play pro basketball and football for a handful of years?
