Megan, thank you for standing up against big a cappella. The snark gave me life on this bleary hangover morning, even if I feel you might have pulled some punches.

WHY “This Christmas”???? Their stupid acapella version is an abomination that strips the song of everything that is warm and good and magical about the original and adds a bunch of “pssshts” for god knows what reason, “flavor”? Then they fold in WAY too many other sounds so it just sounds muddy and schizophrenic.

Buckely’s is the best, but I still have a soft spot for Rufus Wainwright’s version

Funny thing is that history should be taught so you don’t make the same mistakes not to give some sort of validation to them.

The best part of that name (Kash) is that Kim and Kandi actually argued about it because Kandi said she wanted to name her son Kash (she was not pregnant at the time and I’m not sure if she was even dating anyone; I can’t remember), but Kim got to it first.

She had such an aesthetic in the early days. All she wore were tight satin dress shirts or lingerie dresses that made her boobs look way saggy. Paired with diamond hoop earrings, acrylic French manicure, and drinking chardonnay INSIDE HER BENTLEY CONVERTIBLE IN A STRIP MALL PARKING LOT as she listened to her own songs.

Back in the halcyon days of Big Poppa.

I haven’t seen Kim in a loooong time, she’s crazy tiny now! I miss the days of her ridiculous wigs and too-tight clothes...

Someday I’ll be rich enough to research the biological impulse that creates a dependency for #notall intellectual dishonesty.

I find Tomi Lahren’s existence a bit of an affront. She’s an aggressively mediocre 24-year-old with a broadcast journalism degree from UNLV. Why does she have access to the public airways?

It’s interesting how these tough guys are afraid of pretty much everything.

They will readily paint themselves as allies, or as fellow oppressed people. They will convince you that they are in your corner. They will show you how white feminism intersects with racism. They will explain how white male patriarchy has always been the problem. Then they will slide behind the voting curtain and

To the trolls that I won’t respond directly to because it would ungrey your schlock: Your rage has probably blinded you and caused you to miss this sentence:

I’m a white woman, I’m 43 and I can honestly say that I could find no fault in your words. They itched at me like a tag in my shirt I just can’t reach, but that’s the point (I think, anyway; I’m not trying to misinterpret or put words in your mouth). It made me uncomfortable to read, and I read it three times, but

White women know exactly how much power they hold in today’s political climate. They can seesaw the line of oppressed and oppressor with ease. They know their voice will be heard by other whites if they choose to play the victim. Their mere accusations hold enourmous power against minorities. It’s no surprise ~53% of

I came to this article hoping in some way to talk to other black people about a show I enjoy. A show that I enjoy. A show that I enjoy despite the fact that they have no black people or people of color save for those two light skin possibly mixed race characters who are slaves, (freed.) Now here michael wrote and has

I have to say, I somewhat doubt this reflects the authors’ intent (but also don’t really consider author intent to always or even usually be the most important thing in understanding a work of fiction) but this has got to be the best analysis of an episode of this show I’ve ever read.

This is gospel, all of it.
