I’m gonna guess that this lady also doesn’t “see race”! Having “children of all races” at your school is not the same as not fucking having racist children and families and staff at your goddamn school.

Right? This is the sticking point with so many white people I talk to about race. Colorblindness + the attitude that a person can’t be racist if they’re not overtly hateful = so hard to reason with.

Teachers don’t drag children around any more, and especially since children don’t actually have an elbow joint until they’re about four, it’s a very fucking bad idea to do it.

On the contrary, there are PLENTY of reasons to make this a race thing. Implicit bias in early childhood teachers is a known, empirically-proven presence in our current system.
